What does Dry Offset Printing mean?
It is a form of offset printing with no water.
The procedure is very similar to traditional offset printing but it has been adapted to make it possible to print on cylindrical plastic containers instead of paper and flat surfaces.
What is it like?
There are no labels or other materials to attach to the containers because the graphics are printed directly onto them. Dry offset printing is entirely ink-based, as is the case with printing onto paper.
How does the process work?
It involves an indirect printing procedure because the image is not transferred from the matrix to the printing surface directly as it is in traditional printing. Instead, a series of rollers rotate in contact with each other.
The graphics to be printed are engraved on a metal cylinder, which is inked and then rotated in order to transfer the image onto a rubber cylinder. In turn, the latter prints the image onto the sides of the pot.
A powerful UV lamp instantly dries the ink and sets the image in place.
The entire process is automatic and extremely fast.
When should the technology be used?
When there is no need for photographic quality in the images and shades to be reproduced and spot colour images will suffice, with a maximum of seven colours.
When you want to print directly onto the surface of containers, without the use of other materials (such as labels or films).
When you need affordable, fast and flexible decorative technology.

Unlike traditional offset printing, the process does not involve the use of water, which produces Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and other substances that are dangerous for humans and harmful to the environment.
The inks contain organic ingredients such as soybeans and vegetables. They perfectly recreate the results given by traditional oil-based inks without having any side effects on the environment.
